Life in the big hair 80's

When I think about 80 of my thinking "BIG". Of the 80 years all the major bands big hair, big earrings and big shoulder pads. Dress and hair was higher than that seen elsewhere.

I'm still in high school in the mid to late 80, s and also my husband, but we grew up in different countries. I grew up in New Jersey and raise in Kentucky. Of course, the two countries and have been very different in all ways. I think in many ways, New Jersey is the incarnation of this decade. In the club, on the balcony on the beach, the mall, Jersey girl can be seen with that big hair and big earrings.

After visiting a few times, Kentucky during the last decade, at least in the hair department, they seem to have with us. The women in my husband's family have long hair, but they all seem more at tight perms, at least more than my friends and family in New Jersey.

I can not imagine how I must have used hairspray, maybe at least one box per week. Today, if I wanted to go to the same view, I'm not sure I need to know how. Although I obviously have oversized hair and earrings and wore cosmetics section, I tend Preppie in the closet.

Make sure you don't use too much so that it's crunchy. A little crunch at first is okay because you will scrunch it up later to get rid of the crunch. Use a strong hold gel and not a curling gel. Curling gel is made for naturally curly hair just to keep it in place. It is light and not strong enough to keep curls in naturally straight hair.

Next, take your curling iron, make sure it's hot, clip it around the top of your section of hair, and pull it down until it's just covering the end. Then, twist the barrel until you have the entire section of hair wrapped around the iron. Hold it for 3 to 5 seconds. Don't hold it too long because you will burn your hair. Quickly unravel your hair and release the curl. Right away, spray it with a sprits of hair spray. Don't touch it just yet. If it looks too curly for your liking, that's a good thing. Just leave it for now.

Continue around your head until you've curled all of your hair. When it is finished, turn your head over and spray hair spray all over then shake your head to loosen up the curls. Flip your hair back and arrange your curls how you want to them to look. Add some pins and clips if you want. If a curl is still too tight, tug on it gently until it's right. These same rules apply to the top of the face. A short forehead, one who has a hairline that comes down close to the eyebrows, also needs camouflaging. Bangs are an option here. Diamond, Square and Oblong shapes do not want hairstyles that comb back to expose these flaws. It's best to allow hair to fall on the forehead somehow to disguise your less than perfect hairline.

A Diamond or Oblong shaped face needs to be very careful to avoid hairstyles with fullness across the nose and eye level as these styles will only make their face shape appear wider here. Neck length can appear shorter or longer according to your needs, depending on your style and its length. This physical characteristic is often overlooked.

You can have the best haircut in the world for you, however, if the color is all wrong, it ruins the whole look. Ah, summer has arrived and it is time to tan and enjoy the beach for those lucky enough to be close enough to the ocean. Well everyone should enjoy summer anyways.
